We have heard before the saying that Rome wasn't built in a day, or the phrase a house built on sand will not stand. Well the same is true in dog training. You could teach your dog cool advanced tricks but without basic knowledge of sit, down, stay and come, teaching more advanced tricks is going to be very difficult.

Basic obedience also includes emergency commands, such as to tell your dog to down stay and stop chasing a squirrel or bird. This training could save your pup from getting hit by a car, lost, or stolen.
